4bite Privacy Policy

4bite is the maker handle of Andre Oseguera, an individual (“4bite”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains the limited personal data involved in visiting the 4bite website, buying and using 4bite audio plugins, and how that information is handled. We keep this short on purpose: 4bite is a small, independent operation and collects as little as possible.

The short version

• We do not run analytics, telemetry, or tracking inside the plugins.
• We do not collect, upload, or listen to the audio you process. Your audio never leaves your machine through our software.
• Optional website and ad measurement stays off unless you allow it.
• Purchase information is handled by Moonbase, and a small amount of activation information is used to verify your license.

What data is involved, and why

1. Website delivery and security. The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most web infrastructure, Cloudflare processes request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, requested URL, browser/user-agent information, time, and security signals. This happens as part of serving the site and is not controlled by the optional measurement choice. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

2. Optional website measurement. If you allow measurement, 4bite may load the following services:

• Google Analytics 4 for site measurement. Events can include page views, viewing or playing a product demonstration, trial and purchase button clicks, checkout progress, completed trial downloads and purchases, newsletter or release-waitlist form submissions, scroll depth, and thirty seconds of visible engagement. These events include the page path and a short interface label where useful. They do not include audio, project contents, payment details, form contents, or an email address.
• Reddit Pixel for ad measurement. Events can include a page visit, viewing the BiteRotator page, adding to cart, completing a trial download, submitting a newsletter or release-waitlist form, and completing a purchase. The event indicates that a form was submitted but does not contain the form contents or email address. This helps determine whether a Reddit ad led to a useful outcome.

The Google and Reddit scripts are not downloaded before consent. Allowing measurement starts the permitted services immediately on the current page. Choosing “Essential only” leaves them off. You can make separate choices under “Manage choices.”

3. Purchase data (handled by Moonbase). 4bite sells through Moonbase (moonbase.sh), which acts as the merchant of record. When you buy, Moonbase collects and processes the information needed for the transaction — for example your name, email, billing details, and payment information — under Moonbase’s own privacy policy. 4bite does not receive or store your payment details. If you allow Ad measurement, the embedded store may also receive UTM campaign parameters used to connect a purchase to a campaign or apply a campaign-specific offer. Those parameters are withheld from the embedded store before consent and when Ad measurement is off. See Moonbase’s privacy policy for how it handles data: https://www.moonbase.sh/privacy-policy/.

4. Activation data. To confirm your license is valid, the plugin’s activation system exchanges a small amount of data with the licensing service — for example a device identifier and your license/activation status. This is used solely to verify your entitlement and manage your activations (seats). It is not used for advertising or profiling.

5. Support correspondence. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send (your email address and message) and use it only to respond to and support you.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• We do not use plugin audio, projects, activation data, purchase details, or support correspondence for advertising.
• We do not send form contents or email addresses through the website measurement events described above.
• We do not access your audio, projects, or files beyond what the plugin needs to process audio locally in your host.

Data retention

The website stores your measurement choice in your browser for 180 days, at which point it asks again. 4bite retains support correspondence only as long as needed to help you and keep basic records. Google, Reddit, Cloudflare, and Moonbase retain information under their respective settings and policies. Purchase and activation records are retained by Moonbase for as long as needed to provide and account for your license.

Changing your website measurement choice

Use Privacy choices in the website footer at any time. Withdrawing a previously granted category reloads the current page so the corresponding third-party script is no longer present. Rejecting measurement is as easy as allowing it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. For purchase data, contact Moonbase (the merchant of record). Google and Reddit provide controls under their respective policies. For anything held directly by 4bite, contact us at the address below and we’ll help.

Children

4bite plugins are tools for music and audio production and are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
